I’d love to know what you did to make the kohlrabi resemble “fries.” Simple roasting? Or did you deep fry it with some sort of batter? I make butternut squash “fries” and turnip “fries,” but I haven’t tried it with kohlrabi yet.

I just found your website from the “Trying Low Oxalate” group and I am so grateful! I can’t wait to explore your site as I am fairly new to LOD. I actually just bought and tried kohlrabi for the first time last week. It was delicious and the first time I have had anything remotely close to “fries” in years (I am on the GAPS, anti-candida, and now LOD diets). Thanks for all of your work!

It comes into season a little earlier in the Southern US (can actually be grown year round with a cold frame or hoop house) and a little later in most of Canada. It actually grows best and tastes best in the cooler climates.
Hope you enjoy it.

I guess I’ll be looking for some on my next trip to the farmers’ market. I assume from your comments that they are in season in the US?
