Introducing the Low Oxalate Diet Store

by Heidi on April 16, 2012

I’m excited to announce my Low Oxalate Diet Store is up and running!  Have you ever wondered where to find low oxalate foods and supplements?  Have you ever wanted to slowly browse a store, reading about low oxalate products you might want to try?  Have you ever wanted to just go into a store and know that everything you buy is okay without constantly checking your 190-page food list?  If so, then my Low Oxalate Diet Store is for you.

The Low Oxalate Diet Store (powered by Amazon.com) features books that may help you succeed on the low oxalate diet; supplements that may help you heal; gluten-free, low oxalate foods for snacking, baking and cooking; a low oxalate coffee and tea shop; seeds and supplies for your low oxalate garden; and a few kitchen gadgets to make low oxalate cooking easier.  The feature I’m most excited about is that every food item in the store has the oxalate content per serving plainly written underneath.  This lets you see that actual product that was tested in Dr. Michael Liebman’s testing lab and to learn about that particular product(click on a product to learn more).  If a different item or an unspecified brand was tested, I tell you this, too.  My hope is that even if you don’t want to buy products through Amazon.com, you can use this feature to learn about great low oxalate products to look for at your home store.

Of course The Low Oxalte Diet Store does have a few drawbacks — I can only feature products that are currently available through Amazon.com and that can be shipped easily through the mail.  Plus, I can’t list every size, quantity or sale that is available for each product.  If you are interested in an item, but don’t see a quantity or size you want, please use the Amazon search engine in my right sidebar to look up other options.  I also promise to continue mentioning or linking to other great low oxalate  products in my posts even if I don’t get a commission.  I will add products to theLow Oxalate Store as new products become available through Amazon.com or when new products are tested.  Plus, I hope to have a list posted soon of the oxalate content of whole foods, such as vegetables, fruits and meats–foods that are best bought through your local farmers’ market or local health food store.

You can find the Low Oxalate Diet Store by clicking on the LOD Store link in the navigation menu at the top of this page, by clicking on this Low Oxalate Diet Store link, or by clicking on a product in the preview bar below.  Thanks!  I hope this makes shopping for the low oxalate diet much easier.
